Wayne Walker, ACE

W ayne has 20 years of experience in the pest management profession. He is certified as an Associate Certified Entomologist through the Entomological Society of America. He is a member of the National Pest Management Association, the Florida Pest Management Association, the Entomological Society of America, the Association of College and University Housing Officers International, and the Southeast Association of Housing Officers. Wayne is the owner/operator of Walker Pest Consulting, specializing in providing information and solutions to bed bug issues. He has been the Senior Pest Control Technician for the Department of Housing and Residence Education at the University of Florida for the past 11 years. He is responsible for the daily pest management for 7500 undergraduate student spaces in the university residence halls and 1800 graduate and family housing spaces in the apartment villages. Since his first encounter with bed bugs in 2004, his passion has been to develop and share with the college and university communities, effective methods for dealing with the bed bug issue. He has collaborated with Dr. Phil Koehler and the Urban Entomology Lab at the University of Florida, on numerous research projects developing bed bug solutions and techniques. Some of these techniques and procedures have been adopted by colleges, universities, and pest management companies throughout America. He has authored articles for the ACUHO-I Talking Stick magazine (Official magazine of the Association of College & University Housing Officers � International), along with articles for pest management trade magazines and for the Journal of Economic Entomology. He has presented on the bed bug issue at many ACUHO-I conferences, Southeast Association of Housing Officers (SEAHO) conferences, regional pest management conferences, and at the national pest management conference.
